Rachel Okun, founder of Okun Law PLLC, has recently been selected as one of the 2025 “On the Rise — Top 40 Young Lawyers” by the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (ABA YLD).

This national award recognizes 40 outstanding young lawyers each year for their service to the community, commitment to the profession, leadership, vision, innovation, and professional achievement. Honorees are chosen by the ABA’s Awards and Subgrant Committee, for their ability to excel in all of these categories.

“The On the Rise — Top 40 honorees embody the spirit of excellence, innovation and service that defines the ABA Young Lawyers Division,” said Dani Borel, chair of the division. “These rising stars are not only making remarkable strides in their legal careers, but they are also leading with purpose in their communities and within our profession. It is a privilege to recognize their accomplishments and celebrate the future they are helping to shape.”

As the founder of Okun Law, this recognition not just as a personal milestone for Rachel but as a reflection of the firm’s values: accessible, compassionate, and informed legal representation. It also reaffirms Okun Law’s commitment to providing clients with legal services that combine deep expertise with personal attention and highlights the firm’s belief that success in the law is about more than winning cases. To be included in this group is truly humbling,” Rachel shared. “At the ceremony, the Young Lawyers Division highlighted each recipient’s background, and as I listened, I was struck by the incredible accomplishments, skills, and dedication of my fellow honorees. I couldn’t help but feel both proud and humbled to be recognized alongside them—especially as this marks my final year of eligibility as a ‘young lawyer.’ I’m grateful for the opportunity to do the work I love every day, to serve my clients, and to give back to a profession that has given me so much.”

The On the Rise — Top 40 Young Lawyers program is one of the most prestigious recognitions for young attorneys nationwide. The ABA itself is one of the largest voluntary associations of lawyers in the world, working to improve the administration of justice, accredit law schools, provide continuing legal education, and advocate for the profession worldwide.
