Rachel Okun, founder of Okun Law PLLC in Falmouth, Maine, is a dedicated personal injury attorney known for her compassionate advocacy and strong results. She currently serves as President-Elect of the Maine State Bar Association, with plans to assume the Presidency in 2026. Nationally recognized by the American Bar Association as a Top 40 Young Lawyers in 2025, Attorney Okun as also been named to Super Lawyers Rising Stars annually since 2018 for her work in personal injury law.

Rachel is deeply committed to access to justice, and has served in various leadership and volunteer roles throughout her career.​

MAINE ROOTS and LEGAL EDUCATION

Rachel is a Maine native, raised in Southern Maine.  She attended Catherine McAuley High School and went on to study Criminology at the University of Southern Maine (USM), where she also participated in a criminology focuses study abroad program at the University of Stockholm in Sweden. 

She earned her law degree cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law, where she competed on the moot court team in the First Amendment Moot Court Competition in Nashville, Tennessee. While at Maine Law, she worked as a student attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, and earned a CALI Legal Excellence Award for the Future Award for her work. ​

EARLY CAREER PATH TO PERSONAL INJURY

Before founding Okun Law PLLC, Rachel gained broad experience across multiple areas of law, including:

  • Plaintiff's personal injury​

  • Insurance defense

  • Workers' compensation

  • Small claims and general civil litigation

  • Social Security Disability (SSDI)

Ultimately, Rachel realized that personal injury law was her true calling.  Rachel founded Okun Law PLLC in 2021 to focus entirely on representing injured clients, with the flexibility to take cases that mattered most to her, and the commitment to treat every client like family.​

When Rachel is not working, she enjoys traveling and meeting new people, visiting Maine's local beaches and mountains, trying new restaurants, and exploring the world. Whether driving to a local beach in Maine or traveling to a remote island on the other side of the world, she is always up for an adventure.  Rachel spends her free time with her family and friends, and German Shepherd/Husky, Echo.
