Rachel is deeply committed to access to justice, and has served in various leadership and volunteer roles throughout her career.

MAINE ROOTS and LEGAL EDUCATION

Rachel is a Maine native, raised in Southern Maine. She attended Catherine McAuley High School and went on to study Criminology at the University of Southern Maine (USM), where she also participated in a criminology focuses study abroad program at the University of Stockholm in Sweden.

She earned her law degree cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law, where she competed on the moot court team in the First Amendment Moot Court Competition in Nashville, Tennessee. While at Maine Law, she worked as a student attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, and earned a CALI Legal Excellence Award for the Future Award for her work.

EARLY CAREER PATH TO PERSONAL INJURY

Before founding Okun Law PLLC, Rachel gained broad experience across multiple areas of law, including:

Workers' compensation
Small claims and general civil litigation
Social Security Disability (SSDI)

Ultimately, Rachel realized that personal injury law was her true calling. Rachel founded Okun Law PLLC in 2021 to focus entirely on representing injured clients, with the flexibility to take cases that mattered most to her, and the commitment to treat every client like family.
