Rachel D. Okun

Founder & Managing Attorney

Rachel Okun is a Maine native.  She grew up in Southern Maine, and attended Catherine McAuley High School before attending the University of Southern Maine.  At USM, Rachel majored in criminology and participated in a criminology focused study abroad program in Stockholm, Sweden. Rachel later attended the University of Maine School of Law where she graduated cum laude.  During law school, Rachel was on the moot court team and competed in the First Amendment Moot Court Competition in Nashville, Tennessee. She also worked as a student attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic and earned a CALI Legal Excellence for the Future Award for her work.

Following law school, Rachel worked in a variety of legal fields, including plaintiff personal injury, insurance defense, small claims, workers compensation, general civil litigation, and SSDI. Ultimately, Rachel realized that personal injury was her true passion, and has dedicated her career to helping injured clients.

Rachel understands the meaning of hard work, and is dedicated to obtaining the best possible results for her clients. Rachel has a proven track record of success, and has secured millions in settlements and verdicts for her clients.

Rachel has been designated by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star, a designation given to only 2.5% of attorneys in each state, each year since 2018.  She has also been rated by Avvo as a 10.0, the highest rating possible, and has been awarded an A+ rating by Expertise.com.

Rachel was elected to the Board of Governors for the Maine State Bar Association in 2018, and currently serves as the Chair of the Legislative Committee.  Rachel was selected as the Maine State Bar Association's Delegate to the American Bar Association's House of Delegates in 2022, and currently serves in that role.  She has presented at multiple continuing legal education conferences, and enjoys giving back to the legal community.

Rachel is licensed in Maine State Courts, the United States District Court for the District of Maine, and the Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

When Rachel is not working, she enjoys traveling and exploring Maine's beaches and mountains with her husband, son, and their German Shepherd Dog, Echo.
